An interesting example of contemporary eyewitness account of the horrible and persistent earthquake in Messina, written by the Alberto Corrao, professor of canonic law at the Collegio Carolino. The author gives detailed informations of damage, narrates of the death of prominent citoyens, and finally keeps the vogue of the time for explaining earthquakes as electrical phenomena.
